When a STranger Calls [2005]

medium_strangercalls5.jpgi just got through watching this amazing thriller.  it scared the fire out of me!  i found it slow at bits but then once you relax you're jerked out of it!  i was on the edge of my set most of the time.  i luv that it was so frightening right down to the very last scene!  luv it, luv it, luv it!

Kingdom of Heaven

medium_kingdomofheaven_obloom_273x400.jpg

i’m trying hard to think of the movies i’ve watched in the past few days...

“Kingdom of Heaven” was SO good.  man, Orlando bloom was HOT.  the most attractive he has been to me since his debut in ‘Lord of the Rings’.  his character was the strong silent type, my weakness and greatest downfall so far.  but i learned a lot from this film, sounds silly to me but i did.  saw another way to look at power and position and what makes someone truly strong and noble.  i don’t know that it is intended to give a moral message but such were the times of the Crusades.  it is a captivating film, highly recommended!

SIN CITY

medium_sincity_poster1.3.jpg

sin city was so gritty and violent but with a strong view of right and wrong.  although one would be thrown into jail for the ‘right’ things some of the characters do in this film.

medium_mickey_rourke9.jpg

i liked it.  especially the one about ‘goldie’.  this brut of a man is driven to avenge the death of a one night stand of a beautiful woman, goldie.  it made me cry! lol... it is such another world film to me.  i don’t know what others thought but i couldn’t help thinking how romantic this was.

medium_sincity10.jpg

the characters speak as those in the nineteen thirties detective movies, ‘in all the gin joints she had to walk into mine...’  you know what i mean.  there is a lot of the knight in shining armor themes, the man protecting the woman.  but there are times when the woman kick @ss too.  like the hookers that control a whole portion of the city.  they would scare the shit out of any bad @ss!

medium_sincity_compare1.6.jpg
it was a series of stories all placed in sin city with some interlacing but mostly each story stood on its own.

bruce willice was so hot!  i wanted to jump his bones.  his was a sweet story, hero of the century he was.  saving a life and giving up his own for love in the end but just to do the ‘right’ thing to begin with.  this was so sweet; it made you fall in love with him and the one he attempted to save.  they were strong and braver than most of us could be.  it was soo sweet!  :-)

medium_bruce_willis11.3.jpg
it was odd to me in the beginning but as the stories intrigued me more i accepted the unconventional style.  sometime it was a sad ending and occasionally it was a good one after they were dragged through hell first.  it’s not a bad way to spend an evening watching this star studded movie.  so many of my fav actors were in here.  a true test of there skills.

The Ring 2

medium_boxcover_the_ring.jpg

it seemed like it was a b movie this go round. i was surprised to be disappointed. i wasn’t the only one, when checking it out the checkier asked me if i liked the first with a smirk. her friend saw it and said it was bad like the first. the yahoo viewers agree giving ‘Ring 2’ only a c+

medium_tub.jpg

it didn’t have the drive as the other. but it did pick up and scare the sh*t out of me a few times. i couldn’t stop watching glued to the tube for the full hour and 51 mins. i had to know what was going to happen, what they could possibly do with this one, a bit predictable but still surprising at the end.

oh, and beef candy! always a plus. my fav new actor Simon Baker from ‘The Guardian’ once an addiction of mine. he played the laid back but sweet guy, a pity. i enjoy watching him no matter what he is doing.

if you were a big fan of the first you may want to leave well enough alone and not spoil the good scary memory of the first. gamble to bother with it. it’s up to you. happy spooky viewing! :-)

Constantine

[[July 23, 2005 ~ still haven't seen hotel rwanda]]

hello everyone.  odiously i am new here.  i’ve put down a few incoherent ramblings as i was trying to figure things our and get my blog here together.  now i have it looking the way i want it so i can now peruse around seeing what other features i can use and visit others’ sites seeing what all can be done and just say hi.
i don’t know what i would write here.  i have sooo many blogs i can hardly decide what to do with them all.  i have a xanga account, well two actually, which i’ve been with for years.  that one i will probably always have.  it is so easy to use.  you don’t have to know anything to use it and still make it look great.  it is really community oriented from it’s conception.  i was one of the many first to be spammed by them when they were just starting out.
any hoot, lets see i have a blogger, iblog, greatestjournal, 2 xanga’s, hmm, i think that’s it.  at least the one’s i still use and visit from time to time.  i’ve heard of others having the same addiction so i take comfort in knowing that i am in now way alone in this.

ran out this morning and picked up a couple of movies after the visit to the local cheap grocery.  Constantine and Hotel Rwanda.  the first is the usual stile of films i’ve been drawn to the past few years.  the later i used to watch all the time, serious drama.

the older i get the more of a kid i become.  the younger i was the more adult my interests and behavior.  i’ve been regressing!
can’t wait to see them!  woopee! *chuckles*
at any rate, i just wanted to put something more substantial down for anyone who visits and kind of introduce myself.  of course i didn’t do all the usual ‘who i am’ stuff because that was already in my profile which i plan on improving.  i really want to add photos. so here it goes . . . :-)  have a great weekend everyone!

Entertain Me Please

got a couple of movies from BlockBuster last night after an unsuccessful run to the bank & pharmacy.  i hate getting out in the sun so by the time i was ready to head out the band & pharmacy where closed!  :::grrr:::

Imaginary Heroes & Stage Beauty were my pics.  not blockbuster on the tip of every tounge movies but those deeper independent, low budget beauties i love {v} and sometimes hate if they suck ;)

The Man of the House

medium_manofthehouse1.jpg

just watched it tonight.  it was funny.  i just love the lead.  his films are always good.  it was funny but not corny.  a lot of fun.  good for a gloomy mood.  it was a nice escape.

“Man of the House”  will make you laugh and whisk you away into another.  believable – almost, it’s not sci/phi after all.  humorous and fun worth checking out.  let me know what you thought of this movie :D  luv to hear your thoughts.

The Machinist

medium_machinist1.2.jpg
“came home, watched  weird movie, ‘the machinist’, good but strange.  more of a psychological thriller – a thinker movie.  could barely keep my eyes open.”  was my first words about this movie yesterday when i watched it after coming home from an unsuccessful visit to the dentist.
good distraction.  good movie.  more of a introspective look into someone’s mind that only a lower budget film can do.  most of time anyhow.
